1.0 INTRODUCTION
The architecture can be defined as the art and science of designing and superintending buildings.
The need for appropriate space, for specific activity in any given design must be taken into consideration.
Administration involves the performances, management of a business operations, decision making as well as the efficient organization of people and other resources to direct activities towards common goals and activities.
Administrative block in secondary school comprises of Principal office, Vice Principal Academic, Vice Principal Administration, Exam Officer, Secretary’s office(s), Staff Room, Conveniences etc.
Therefore, the all constitute a building which governs the affair of the school.
1.1 BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
The Design of a standard administrative block for secondary schools in Nigeria should be is long over due.

1.2 STATEMENT OF RESEARCH PROBLEMS
Generally, Administrative building in Nigeria were detached, the spaces were not well utilized, and in other cases we have inadequate space for the activities in the building.
The building (Administrative block) needs to be designed to allow free functional flow of the offices within the building.
Circulation and ventilation of the building is also very important.

1.3 AIM AND OBJECTIVES OF THE RESEARCH
The aim of the research carried out is to have a well functional administrative block which will be conducive for the staffs of the school.
The main objectives are as follows:
1. To act as easy link between the Principal and staffs of the school.
2. To provide adequate spaces for different offices in the block.
3. To provide a befitting structure in terms of aesthetic to beautify the environment.
1.4 RESEARCH QUESTIONS
This seeks to fill some gaps for the proposed administrative block through the study of the problems associated with the existing administrative block, within the state.
The study seeks to answer the following questions.
1. What are the strength of materials used for the existing administration block?
2. What are the relationship between the offices?
3. What are the materials used in building the existing administrative block?
1.5 JUSTIFICATION OF STUDY
The study of some administrative block in the state has made clear that it is very important for any given school to have a befitting administrative block. Therefore, this research is justified because of the need for comfortable office accommodation for staff of our secondary schools that improve the educational standard.
1.6 DEFINITION OF TERMS
(i) Administration: Activity that relates to the running of a company, school or organization.
(ii) Administrative: this relates to the control or direction of an institution
(iii) Block: A ground of buildings builded together by walls.
(iv) Administrative block: An administrative block is a group of people, involve in controlling and directing the affairs of an organization, school or business.
(v) Secretary: A secretary is a person involved in taking records of the activities in an organization.
(vi) Vice Principal Administration: The Vice Principal Administration is an assistant to the Principal who is in charge of taking part on the controlling and directing of the management of the students.
(vii) Vice Principal Academy: the Vice Principal Academy is an assistant to the Principal who is in charge of the academic procedures in the school.
(viii) Staff: Those are the group of assistants to an organization or a personnel who carryout specific enterprise.
(ix) Staff Room: this is an enclosed room that provides shelter for the teachers of the school.
