ABSTRACT
Small scale industry is one of the factors aiding the diversification of the industry structure development. This study examines credit finance as alternative sources of capital in small scale industries with preference to Polyibadan Pure Water Factory, The Polytechnic, Ibadan.
This research work discusses at length the definition and meaning of finance and small scale industries. The study population was from the entire member of staffs of Polyibadan Pure Water, The Polytechnic, Ibadan; both primary sources of data were from questionnaire and interviews. On the other hand, the secondary sources of data were from textbooks, journals and publications.
The descriptive method of data analysis was used in the research work and hypothesis formulated were tested using simple percentage techniques.
In this research work, a table of preference and necessity is drawn out to show that finance is a tool in aiding small scale enterprise and it can be substitute where there is no capital.
From the findings, the research hypothesis concludes that a small scale industry depends on finances as an alternative source of capital, because where there is no finance as an alternative, the business cease to exist.
