ABSTRACT
Community Relations is one indispensable factor for growth and development especially in a fast changing society like okene – As fracas between community and their host communities hostility has become a reoccurring trend in Nigeria, it is imperative to adopt community relations in order to not just enjoy a mutual relationship but to boost development especially in the present changing social, political and economic climate where everyone wants to grow, wants to succeed, wants to be heard and recognized, and wants to be involved in what daily activities of his locality. This project examines, using literature study as a method, the importance of community relation strategies in strengthening in host and development in okene local government area.
Application of a Good community development plan is an action that helps people to recognise and develop their ability and potential and organise themselves to respond to problems and needs which they share. The project concludes that if properly harnessed, community relation would certainly enhance the performance and impact greatly on the development of communities.
